When monitoring low flow volumes, and the liquid being monitored is relatively free of solids then it may be beneficial to use a V Notch or Rectangular notch weir plate. This type of open channel system can be more accurate than a flume for monitoring flows at very low levels and can, on occasion be incorporated into existing final outfall chambers with minimum cost implications.
Prefabricated final effluent chambers which incorporate both Weir Plate and upstream baffle can be supplied for above or below ground installations. These chambers are designed to BS3680 and can manufactured with available pipe-work connections.
